Pattaya
A photograph of two Russians, accused by bar owners in Pattaya of not paying for alcohol and snacks, has circulated on Thai social media. According to bar staff, the young men ordered beer and snacks, then allegedly "paid" for the order by leaving money in a self-service box. However, when employees checked the box, it was empty. The bar owners called the police, but no arrests were made. Presumably, the unpaid bill amount was too small for a serious investigation. After speaking with the police, the Russians left the bar. The establishment's owners posted photos of the customers on social media, warning other businesses. One of the pictures shows a young man watching CCTV footage on a bar employee's phone. Apparently, the dispute was over an amount not exceeding one thousand baht. For readers: Always check your bill in bars and restaurants to avoid misunderstandings.
