In Pattaya, three tourists who were kidnapped for ransom have been released. According to the investigation, the men were picked up under the pretense of a transfer at their arrival in Thailand and brought to an rented house where they were tied up, beaten, and forced to call relatives demanding a ransom. The kidnappers demanded approximately 7 million Indian rupees, which is roughly 2.5 million baht. During the raid, police found the victims bound with injuries from beatings. Five suspects, including four Pakistanis and one Indian, tried to flee but were apprehended. Police believe this may be a new scheme of fraud.
